We finally trimmed the hair around The Pig's eyes and she really looks like an Ewok again. I didn't think it was possible, but she's even more adorable now that you can see her little brown eyes!

Our Growing Girl
It's really amazing to see how much the Gin-Pig has grown in just under 8 weeks. When we brought her home, she weighed 2.1 lbs, and was more fur than anything else. Body-wise, she was easily less than half the size of Cirrus and Nimbus. Now she's about 5.5 lbs, and body-wise is the same size as the Whites. Here are a series of photos for comparison:

According to the general puppy information for small dogs, she should continue growing until she is five or six months old. So in about 6 weeks, we should have a much better idea of how big she'll get. And that also means that she'll have a LOT more energy to spend in about 6 weeks. Good thing she is getting very good at walking on the leash - I anticipate a lot of walks in our future...

Belly Rubbing
In the past couple of weeks, Ginny has learned to appreciate the joys of belly-rubbing. That is, how nice it is when the humans scratch her belly. She enjoys it so much that she now solicits belly rubbing, and if you stop too soon, gently lets you know that you're not done yet:
And of course we keep rubbing when asked, because how can we resist such a cutie?

Hair Obsession
You have probably noticed from previous videos and photos that Ginny really likes biting tails. When biting Nimbus' tail, she generally grabs just fur (or hair) and pulls and pulls and pulls. I thought it was the tails that she was after, but now I'm not so sure. I think it's the hair that interests her:
Length doesn't matter, either:
We're working on breaking her of this habit, so that guests don't have to wear hats when playing with her...

The Explorer
As Ginny gets more and more coordinated, she is getting more and more comfortable exploring her environment. Exploring Mt. Conley:
Whoa, sensory overload. She's outta there!
Not surprisingly, based on her experience scaling walls, The Explorer has also learned to scale the sofa:
As adorable as she is, we're going to have to start teaching her appropriate sofa behavior soon.

The Babies Meet
Several Conley/Keane family members visited us during the first weekend in February. One of the Keanes is our adorable 18-month-old niece Sally. She has grown up with cats, so interacting with 3 dogs and a puppy was a new experience for her. Fortunately we had the walls in place to contain Ginny, since she's a bit more enthusiastic than the older dogs. Sally appreciated the barriers - she could get close without getting too close. Here Sally (sort of) shares the dog balls with Ginny:
Unfortunately I don't have any other video/photos of Sally and any of the dogs. She definitely grew more and more comfortable with them throughout the weekend, and was generously dolling out kisses to them all before she left!
